Fused Glass Jewelry is quiet fun to make. 

When I make a piece, I sit down at my drawing board and sketch out a couple of ideas of how I want the fused glass layers to come together to make it into a pendant, bracelet, rings or ear rings.  {Sometimes I just start assembling pieces and then see what I come up with.}  

I choose from the glass that I have in stock to put my idea into a piece of art.  I start by scoring the glass and breaking it the desired shape and size and then I layer the glass, until I am happy with the completion of it.  I then load my fused glass piece into my kiln and fire it.  Once it has reached temperature, I have to let it cool.  I finish the piece by washing it, sanding any rough edges and adding the desired fittings.

I also photograph all my finished work, so I have a record of all the pieces that I have made. :)

Hi – My name is Loren.  Welcome to babyglass, a unique art studio, that is located in St. Petersburg, Florida.  I have been studying art since I was in high school.  I knew at a young age that I wanted to do something creative as my career.  I found Architecture.  I studied Architecture at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida and at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.  I am now a designer for an architecture firm in Clearwater, Florida and I am in the process of becoming a licensed Architect.  I have always had an artistic side to my self.
 
How I started – I was introduced to stained glass right after high school at a local pottery studio and studied that for three years before I was introduced to my new found love, fused glass.  I have been a glass fused glass artist ever since.  I still play with stained glass from time to time, but it is on a very limited basis.

Where did babyglass come from? - Baby is defined by something precious and cute, glass is glass.  I came up with this by combining the two.  I made cute, precious unique pieces of glass art that you can wear on you body and change with you mood.
